Application and Development of Separation Membrane Technology in Petrochemical Industry
Recently, a seminar on the application and practice of separation membrane technology in the petrochemical industry was held in Hangzhou. More than 150 representatives from leading domestic petrochemical enterprises and well-known universities gathered in Hangzhou to discuss the application and development of separation membrane technology in the petrochemical industry under the background of "dual carbon".
The meeting pointed out that separation membrane technology involves various types such as microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, pervaporation, gas separation, etc. By utilizing the selectivity of membranes, different components can be separated, purified, and concentrated. It can be applied to clean production and process reengineering, water treatment, deep sewage treatment and near zero emissions, gas purification and recovery, volatile organic compound (VOC) treatment, and other fields. The role of source control and full process pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the petrochemical industry cannot be underestimated.
Zhou Xianhui, Chairman of the China Chemical Environmental Protection Association, stated that the petrochemical industry is currently facing a severe development situation and challenges. In the future, separation membrane related enterprises should strengthen technical exchanges and sharing to promote the industry to achieve green and high-quality development as soon as possible.
Chen Jun, Director of the Petrochemical Special Committee of the China Chemical Environmental Protection Association, believes that in the future research and development process, separation membrane related enterprises should focus on technological breakthroughs in source control, full process pollution reduction, and carbon reduction.
A total of 26 exchange reports were arranged for this meeting. Professors from universities such as Jiangsu University, East China University of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang University introduced the latest developments in cutting-edge research and applications of membrane technology; Experts from Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Company, Tianjin Petrochemical, Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology, CNOOC Tianjin Research and Design Institute, CNPC Safety and Environmental Protection Institute, ChemChina Environment, Hangzhou Water Treatment Center and other units shared their application practices and problem-solving solutions of membrane technology; Experts from the National Quality Supervision and Inspection Center for Seawater and Bitter Saltwater Utilization Products explained the performance testing and comparison of separation membranes with detailed data; Dr. Zhou Meixiang from the World Bank shared typical cases of ESG practices in large international petrochemical companies. Zhejiang Yimeng New Material Technology Co., Ltd. introduced its history and typical application cases in membrane material research and development and product localization; Beijet Group Co., Ltd. has been deeply involved in the field of petrochemical and coal chemical wastewater treatment for many years, and has successfully explored and achieved fruitful results in the application of membrane technology in the petrochemical industry; The seminar exchange report comprehensively showcases the development process and fruitful achievements of separation membrane technology in the petrochemical industry over the past few decades from multiple levels and perspectives. The report is rich in content and exciting, providing valuable guidance for the petrochemical industry to achieve source control, reduce pollution and carbon emissions throughout the entire process, and build a world leading green and intelligent enterprise.
In addition, 17 technical papers were received at this technical exchange meeting. After expert review, a total of 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, and 8 third prizes were awarded.
After the meeting, the attending representatives visited Zhejiang Yimeng New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Nanpu Fluid Machinery Co., Ltd.
