The first diving skills training center for marine engineering majors in China has been put into operation in Tianjin
On October 31st, the first professional diving skills training center for ocean engineering in China was officially put into use in Binhai New Area, Tianjin, marking a new step in the construction of a professional and innovative diving talent team in Tianjin. It is of great significance to promote the improvement of professional diving skills and safety management level in domestic ocean engineering.
Divers are an indispensable profession in the marine engineering industry, known internationally as "underwater astronauts" due to their high operational risks, difficult training, and limited workforce. Engineering diving operations face complex and ever-changing special environments such as water pressure, wind and waves, low temperatures, and poor visibility, which pose great construction risks. The training period for professional engineering diving classes is generally 2 years, but obtaining diving qualifications is only equivalent to obtaining a "driver's license". To truly engage in construction operations, strict and systematic job professional knowledge and practical training are required to further enhance the professional skills and practical abilities of engineering diving. For a long time, due to the lack of professional training centers for improving job skills, the training efficiency and safety management level of engineering divers in China have been greatly limited.
As the "national team" of domestic offshore oil engineering construction, Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Offshore Oil Engineering Company") has carefully built a diving training center that integrates theory and practice, and is committed to promoting the safe, standardized, and standardized development of the offshore engineering diving industry. It is reported that the training center put into use this time is composed of the "Haiyou frogman" studio and diving training site, mainly targeting skilled personnel who have obtained diving qualification certificates. It aims to create a specialized training center that integrates marine engineering safety operation skills training, diver vocational skill level certification, underwater simulation experiments of Haiyou Engineering Company, and marine scientific research.
It is reported that the practical training site adopts a dual training pool design, with a length of 6 meters, a width of 2.4 meters, a depth of 2.5 meters, and a full load water capacity of 36 tons. It can meet the training needs of two diving teams at the same time, and is equipped with multiple portholes and underwater video systems. Outside the pool, the operation and training situation of underwater divers can be comprehensively and intuitively understood. The training pool can simulate the offshore operation environment through simulation exercises, real-life interactions, and other forms, providing immersive training for students. The "Haiyou frogman" studio is led by Chu Jinyong, one of the "Top Ten Marine Figures in China". With the support of two level skill experts, it has established a five level training framework system, set up more than 40 training courses, and equipped with underwater operation and testing equipment such as air diving equipment, open diving bells, and hot water suit systems, which can provide strong support for training and scientific research work.
For a long time, CNOOC Engineering Company has attached great importance to the cultivation of advanced skilled talents and core technology breakthroughs, and has established a mature diving management system. Since 2007, it has become a member of ADCI (International Diving Contractors Association) and is currently a member of the Emergency Rescue Professional Committee of the China Diving Salvage Industry Association. It has diving service capabilities and a first-class credit evaluation certificate; At the same time, in terms of underwater testing, we have obtained underwater testing certification from DNV, ABS, and CCS classification societies, continuously breaking through the bottleneck of domestic industry technology development. Among them, equipment such as 300 meter saturation diving system, high-pressure water cleaning, cavitation jet cleaning, underwater hydraulic tensioner, and AC electromagnetic field detector have been put into use one after another, which has the comprehensive ability of high standard air diving, helium oxygen mixed gas diving, and saturation diving operations in marine engineering. The developed underwater equipment effectively improves the adaptability and flexibility of marine engineering divers to perform operations, better adapts to various complex tasks and environments, and has important significance for fields such as marine exploration, resource development, and environmental protection.
