The "Marine Biofuel Oil" group standard has been officially released.
The "Marine Biofuel Oil" (T/CIQA 88—2024) group standard, drafted by the Inspection and Certification Standards Technology Committee of the China Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association (CIQA/TC1), was reviewed by the Association's Standards Committee and approved for release on August 21, 2024. It will come into effect on the same date.
To fill the existing standards gap and promote the healthy and standardized development of the industry, the CIQA/TC1 organization has organized Sinopec Zhonghai Ship Fuel Supply Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Customs Technology Center, Shenzhen Langkun Environmental Group Co., Ltd., China Ship Fuel Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Maritime University, among others, to draft the "Marine Biofuel Oil" group standard. This standard, in accordance with the regulations of the IMO organization and actual production applications, selects samples of marine biofuel oils B20, B24, and B30 with fat acid methyl ester quality percentage contents of 20%, 24%, and 30% for analysis and research. At the same time, it combines the test data from bench tests (bench tests include testing data for B15, B24, B30, and B50), to establish quality specifications for various grades of marine biofuel oils. This standard helps to establish standardized product quality standards for marine biofuel oils, and is of great significance for promoting the export trade of biofuel oils in China, enhancing port service capabilities, and promoting the development of the shipping industry.
